Join Us!

We want to warmly welcome you to the group.

None of us knew each other until this group was formed, and we have made some great friendships.

Put yourself out there, you'll be glad you did.

Also, keep in mind field-trips are busy and a hard time to get to know others, if you're looking for friendship and support we really recommend unstructured play days and joining us for Mom's Night Out.

You will be taken to our private Facebook Page where an admin will approve your
membership.

FAQ's

Flexibility
It is important to know that all events are optional.  We homeschool because of the flexibility, come to what suits you and your family.

Is there a fee to join this group?
There is no fee to join initially, but we do ask that each family contribute $10 per year (per family, not child) in January.  As a group we decide what to do with the money.
If you don't want to continue with the group, there's no obligation to pay anything.

Is the group on Facebook?
Yes we are, however, our group is private and membership must be approved by an admin.  We use Facebook as a vital tool to communicate and plan events.  This website is our "landing page" where you get to know us a bit.

The group is open to all homeschoolers in the area.
*You must have a child pre-school age or greater to join.*
Anyone can find the site by an Internet search and request to join.

Can anyone post an event?
Yes!  We have organizers who help plan events, but every member is welcome to post an event.

Do I have to host an event?  How many events do I have to attend yearly?
There are seasons to homeschooling.  This is a pressure free group.  Don't worry about these things.  Plan if you'd like, and come to what you like.

RSVPing
What if I can’t be sure in advance whether I’ll be able to make it to a particular event? Do I have to RSVP?
RSVP's are pretty important around here.  If you're unable to attend an event, please update your RSVP asap, even if it's an hour before the event.  If you're unsure if you can make it you can always leave a comment under the event posted with an explanation.  You can even click "maybe."

Can I invite others to join?
Absolutely! Many of us are members of other support groups or co-ops, and this group isn’t designed to replace them. All are welcome!

Monthly MeetUps:
We currently have four scheduled meetups per month at the moment.
1.) Social Activity- (usually free, like a park day, Holiday Party or anything that cultivates friendship and play)
2.) A Scheduled Class- These are things our kids would not normally learn at home and unique in nature.
3.) 1- Monthly Field TripWe plan one for each month of the school year during a MNO.
4.) MNO- Mom's Night Out!  It's a great way to get a break and the support you need to be the teacher and parent that you want to be.  It's also a great way to strengthen friendships and also plan for future events as a group.
